PURELEI celebrates International Women's Day 2024
Every year at PURELEI we celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th. As a successful, female-driven brand with 80% women, we know what female power means. But we are also aware of the prejudices and disadvantages women still face in society today.
What is the status of equal rights for women worldwide?
Every year, the World Economic Forum (WEF) publishes a Global Gender Gap Report that highlights global equality between men and women. According to the 2023 report, the gender gap is 68.4% closed. At this rate, the report says it will take another 131 years to achieve full gender equality. One hundred and thirty-one years.
Has much improved for women in recent generations? Yes! But women have yet to achieve 100% equality anywhere in the world - with Iceland topping the report at 91.2% and Germany in sixth place at 81.5%. Would you like to find out more? Here is the link to the Global Gender Gap Report 2023.
What it means to be a woman
These numbers illustrate why World Women’s Day is so important. Why it is so important to us at PURELEI. Because yes, of course it should be International Women's Day every day, but let's still use March 8th to raise awareness and celebrate ourselves as women, as well as the women around us.

That's why we're shining the spotlight on World Women's Day 2024 on a group of women who share their stories with us and inspire us personally and hopefully you too. Women like you and me, who, like all of us, have faced and continue to face challenges in different ways. We wanted to find out how they deal with challenges and what it means to them to be a woman.
